Design a Custom Parade of Homes Experience

Categories

The semiannual Twin Cities Parade of Homes kicked off a couple weeks ago on February 20, but you still have plenty of opportunity to make your rounds before it comes to a close on March 20. With 458 new homes and 57 remodeled homes to see on the spring circuit, taking part can be an overwhelming prospect. Here are a few tips for how to get the most out of your 2016 Spring Parade of Homes experience.

Create a strategy

First thing’s first. For an event this big, you need a game plan. Fortunately, Parade of Homes makes it easy for you. Free copies of the parade guidebook are available at Holiday Station stores around the Twin Cities. You can also sign up on paradeofhomes.org to create personalized tour routes using the Trip Planner tool. The website’s powerful search function lets you browse and sort through homes to create a customized Parade of Homes experience, whether you’re looking for remodeling inspiration, thinking about building a new home, or just want to be wowed by beautiful interior design.

Attend events

Parade of Homes affiliate companies host educational and social events throughout the month. Learn how to stage your home to be market-ready, take a cooking class in a luxury home kitchen, or enjoy one of many wine and cheese tours. Come prepared to home tours with all your remodeling and building questions—many homes have representatives on hand to answer questions and offer advice. You can find the full schedule of events on the Parade of Homes website.

Sign up for the newsletter

The Parade of Homes monthly newsletter not only keeps you up to date on events and tour information, but you’ll also receive favorite home designs, products, and photos of exceptional homes selected by the Parade of Homes committee.

Take the campaign slogan to heart

The slogan for the 2016 Spring Parade of Homes is (#LetInspirationBloom). If you’re not actively thinking about building or remodeling—or if the prospect feels daunting—focus your parade experience on simply soaking up inspiration. Visit the four artisan dream homes hand-selected by the BATC Foundation for upholding the foundation’s mission “to work in partnership with others to revitalize communities and create safe, quality, affordable housing for families in need,” or tour any of the eight Reggie Award-winning homes on the tour.

The spring Parade of Homes runs through March 20. New homes are open Thursday-Sunday from noon to 6:00pm. Remodeled homes are open March 18 from 1:00pm – 7:00pm and March 19 and 20 from noon to 6:00pm.
