As self-professed culinary enthusiasts, we’re always on the lookout for new and exciting flavors to add to our dining list. We’re unveiling the most anticipated recently opened and soon to open eateries in the Twin Cities.

Colita, South Minneapolis (Just Opened)

Foodies rejoice. The owners of the innovative and beloved Martina recently opened this modern spin on Mexican “integrating the incredibly diverse flavors of Mexico with barbecue and smoking techniques from all over the world.”  Besides incredible flavor and style, the menu of entirely gluten-free fare and featured fermented cocktails are sure to garner attention to your tastebuds and Insta-feed.

Demi, North Loop (Late January 2019)

First, if you haven’t been to Spoon & Stable and Bellecour, get yourself there. Then, get excited by this new offering from chef Gavin Kaysen. The counter-seating restaurant right behind Spoon & Stable promises a multi-course, seasonally driven menu focused on northern local cuisine and comfortable dining. If the food is as impressive as the website, we’re all in luck.

Lucky Cricket, St. Louis Park (Late November)

Locally grown national food star Andrew Zimmern is set to open what sounds like a perfect addition to the West End development—a Tiki bar experience with a “unique take on the bold flavors of honest Chinese cuisine.” We’re not sure what honest Chinese food is, but we’re excited to find out.

Pizza Karma, Eden Prairie (Soonish?)

Naan pizza in a tandoori oven? Enough said. This unique new offering to the pizza world is the mastermind of Raghavan Iyer, a James Beard Award winning cookbook author. Options to top your own or pick from one of the specialties.

Keg and Case, St Paul (Open)

While already opened, vendors are still being added to the list so this still deserves a spot in exciting and new.  As the website describes the project, Keg and Case is the first gourmet food hall to hit the Twin Cities area, “located on the historic grounds of the iconic Schmidt Brewery, Keg and Case West 7th Market is a culinary and retail marketplace — a true community hub for the Twin Cities.” A food fan destination, you’ll find gourmet culinary vendors, coffee, desserts, local retail and a taproom.
